Alex Shelly To Challenge For IWGP Tag Team Titles

Despite rumors all over the Internet of Alex Shelley signing with WWE, SWF owner, Josh Edlow confirmed that the former Motor City Machine Gun will appear at International Wrestling Wars on August 26th. On that date he will team with WWE Tough Enough Alum AJ Kirsch to challenge for the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championship.

“We are excited to be bringing pro wrestling’s hottest free agent to SWF Wrestling,” Edlow stated. “And what better way to introduce him to the SWF fan base than to have him challenge for IWGP gold.

Shelley is considered one of the best tag team wrestlers in the business today. As one half of the famed Motor City Machine Guns, Shelley along with partner Chris Sabin would go on to dominate tag team action winning multiple tag team championships, including the very tag team titles he will be challenging for on August 26th at the Butte County Fairgrounds.

In addition, the Machine Guns would have some of the best tag team matches in recent memory, including the now infamous best of 5 series with Beer Money, Inc. on TNA IMPACT Wrestling television. “Those matches are considered some of the best tag team matches in recent memory,” Edlow continued. “If this match comes anywhere close to those matches the SWF fans will get their money’s worth.”

Shelley and his new found tag partner have their work cut out for them. Rocky Romero and Alex Koslov have quickly become a force to be reckoned with and are starting to get world wide recognition.

“Bottom line, this will be another five star match brought to you by one of the fastest rising wrestling promotions in the nation,” Edlow continued. “We are proud to be bringing the very best in the world to Northern California. The SWF always delivers and August 26th will be no different. “

Be there August 26th at the Butte County Fairgrounds as the SWF presents “International Wrestling Wars.” The show starts at 5:00pm.
